« À notre arrivée sur ces terres en 1997, nous avons pu compter sur le soutien des personnes qui travaillaient la vigne depuis des années. Des hommes nous ont accompagné et guidé dans notre recherche de création vinique en mêlant Passion et Savoir - faire.
Pour nous, ces voix ne faisaient plus qu’une, devenue parole d’évangile. Une cuvée hommage à ces hommes croyant seulement en une parole : celle du vin. »

When we arrived here in 1997, we were able to count on the support of people who had worked in the vines for many years. Men who helped and guided us in our quest to create wines with passion and expertise. For us these ‘voices’ became one gospel.
This vintage is a tribute to these men, believing in one cause: wine.
«Le moulin, au XVIIe siècle, était le premier réseau social de France. Le paysan apportait son blé, tous l’aidaient à le moudre, prenaient des nouvelles les uns des autres. Puis, on se retrouvait autour de l’unique four à pain du village et les discussions animées continuaient. Aujourd’hui, le moulin du Château n’a plus ses ailes, mais cette cuvée lui permet de rester un lieu de rendez-vous : pour un conseil, pour un verre entre amis, pour le partage, on y entre… comme dans un moulin.»

In the 17th century, the mill was the first ‘social network’ in France. Peasants brought their wheat to the mill, everyone helped each other with the milling, chatting and gossiping while they worked. Later, everyone would gather at the village bread oven, and continue their lively conversations.
Today, the Chateau windmill no longer has its sails, but the tradition lives on in this vintage. Like the windmill, we can come together to share a glass with friends.
« Installez-vous à table, à côté d’un parent, d’un ami qui vous est cher ou au contraire à côté d’ une personne que vous ne connaissez pas mais avec qui vous vous sentez bien. Le soleil passe entre les feuilles et vous réchauffe juste ce qu’il faut. Vous ne savez pas jusqu’à quand vous resterez assis à refaire le monde, à rire, peut-être à pleurer, mais ce que vous savez , c’est que vous êtes à votre place. ».

You have no idea how long you will be sitting, putting the world to rights, laughing, maybe shedding a tear, but what you do know, is that you belong there.
« Si un jour, vos pas vous mènent jusqu’au Château Vieux Moulin, la première chose que vous verrez sont les pins de l’allée qui mène au domaine. Imposants, majestueux… et courbés par le vent qui souffle presque en permanence ici. Ce vent, nous vivons avec. Parfois, nous restons bien droits, rigoureux, et parfois, nous nous laissons faire par son souffle et nous nous assouplissons un peu. Ce vin est un parfait mélange de cette puissance et de cette souplesse que nous impose cet élément qui fait désormais partie de nous. ».

If one day, your path leads you to Chateau Vieux Moulin, you will be greeted by the avenue of pines, which leads to the domaine. Majestic...bent by the almost constant wind which blows here. We’ve learnt to live with it. Sometimes we stand straight, other times we let ourselves move with it, we bend a little.
This vintage is a perfect blend of this force and this suppleness, which this element imposes on us, it’s part of us.
Un pétillant naturel, un "Pet Nat" comme on dit désormais, est un vin effervescent issu de la méthode ancestrale; c'est à dire la méthode la plus ancienne pour élaborer des bulles viniques dans un flacon. Joyeux et festif, c’est le vin des copains par excellence !

Note de dégustation : la robe est d’un superbe or intense, rappelant un liquoreux. Le nez est à la fois concentré, frais et aérien, dominé par l’écorce de Yuzu et les terpènes d’agrume. La bouche est tonique, tendue comme un arc de compèt’, avec une acidité vibrante totalement enrobée par une matière dense et mûre, au toucher velouté. La finale est présente, énergique, avec un trait de tanins, et toujours cette belle aromatique sur l’écorce d’agrume, complétée par le thé vert au gingembre, et une persistance sur la mandarine fraîche.
Tasting notes: Unfiltered, fermentation with naturally occurring yeasts. Superbe, deep gold colour, reminiscent of liqueur wines. The nose is both concentrated and cool and airy. Dominant aromas of zesty yuzu and citrus terpenes. The palate is tonic, tight as an archer’s bow, with a vibrant acidity, enveloped by a velvety texture, dense and mature. The finish is persistent, lively, with a touch of tannins, keeping the aromas of citrus peel, and completed by notes of green tea with ginger, and lingering fresh mandarine.
